The FROG REPORT
How to prevent this from happening to you...
DID YOU KNOW THERE IS NO INSURANCE FOR TERMITE DAMAGE.
MOST TERMITE DAMAGE CAN BE PREVENTED BY REGULAR INSPECTIONS.
IN AUSTRALIA, TERMITES CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO HOMES THAN ALL NATURAL DISASTERS PUT TOGETHER.
Termites are becoming increasingly higher risk to residential property. Further and ongoing developments mean we are encroaching in their natural habitat, (the bush). Homes constructed with timber will always be at risk for potential termite attack.
Here are a few hints on how to implement termite management to your own house.
Keep gardens and foliage well away from the perimeter of the house.
The weep holes (gaps between the bricks just above ground level), should be kept clear. These gaps present potential entry points for termites into your home.
Keep moisture areas way from the house. Divert your hot water and air-conditioner overflow pipes away from the house. Like us, and because of this drought we are in, termites are attracted to moisture.
Remove all untreated timbers, sleepers, ground lying wood from your yard. These areas will attract potential termite activity.
THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS OF PREVENTING TERMITE ATTACK.
Regular Termite inspections from a licensed insured termite technician.
Maintain current termite management systems to your house. Eg, chemical barriers that treat the soil around the house and/or termite bait stations that help to monitor and control potential activity to your property
